Fear

In Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV), God says to us, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end". God desires to provide for us an amazing future. Not one full of discomfort and misery, but one full of love and peace. When life creates sickness, grief, fear, and hopelessness, we can be assured that God is with us. He has thoughts and strategies for a future for us and will not give up on us.

Despite the fact that we know that God is with us, and trust all the things He tells us, truth be told, the journey can still be a bit scary and intimidating sometimes. Fear is our natural reaction to something we recognize as intimidating or dangerous. However, recognizing fear can help eliminate some of the reactions related to it.

Ask yourself, "what fears are holding you back from what you know God has for you? How do you react when fear arises? Have you forgiven yourself for your past sins? If not, why not?" God wants us to come to Him in repentance so that He can saturate us with His love, strength, and forgiveness. "For God hath not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). So, live and love fearlessly, as God intended!
